There are 3 types of entries for indian coast guard
Sailor Entry

THERE ARE 03 TYPES OF ENTRIES FOR ENROLLMENT OF ENROLLED PERSONNEL IN INDIAN COAST GUARD

(I) YANTRIK {Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics and Telecommunication (Radio/ Power)}

(II) NAVIK (General Duty)

(III) NAVIK (Domestic Branch)

(a) Written Exam
No. of question - 80
Time - 60 Minutes
Type of question - Objective with four multiple choice
Syllabus - As per the qualification of Branch/ Cadre, English, General Knowledge and Reasoning
Negative marking - No
Min marks to qualify for PFT -40 (Gen/OBC/EWS ) and 36 (SC/ST)

(b) Physical Fitness Test (PFT) - Only to qualify for medicals. No marks awarded in PFT.

  All three test of PFT are to be carried out

Running - 1.6 Km in 7 Minutes

in continuity without any break. Any

Push up - 10

break in the three test will lead to

Uthak Baithak – 20

failing the PFT.

Initial Medical Examination for only those candidates who meet the cut off in written test and PFT as decided by Indian Coast Guard.

(2)

Appeal medical to be completed "within 21 days if permanently unfit" or "within 42 days if temporarily unfit" after completion of initial medicals.

(3)

Preparation of final merit list (considering written test score, qualifying PFT and initial medicals) as per available vacancies and publication of select list for final medicals at INS Chilka on CG website

(4)

Final medicals at INS Chilka.

(5)

Review medical for those candidate who are unfit in Final Medicals at INS Chilka within the time period as decided by Indian Coast Guard .

(6)

Induction in Indian Coast Guard subject to submission of original documents for verification and clearing final medical examination at INS Chilka.

(7)

Verification of original documents through boards/universities/state government by Indian Coast Guard.

(8)

Candidate will be terminated from service if the documents are reported as not genuine by respective board/universities/state government.

Height 157 cms, Weight proportionate to Height and age. Eye sight 6/24 without glasses and 6/9 & 6/12 with glass for better eye and worse eye respectively.

Navik (GD)

18-22 years (5 Years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 Years for OBC)

12th Class with Maths And Physics from any Education Board Recognized By Central /State Government

Height 157 cms, Weight proportionate to Height and age, Eye sight 6/6 (Better eye) and 6/9 (Worst eye)

Navik (DB)

18-22 years (5 Years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 Years for OBC)

10th class pass from any educational board recognized by central / state Govt.

Height 157 cms, Weight proportionate to Height and age, Eye sight 6/36 (Better eye and 6/36 worse eye)

(b) Mathematics and Physics (XIIth of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent).

(a) Height - 152 cms.

(b) Weight – Proportionate to the height and weight + 10% acceptable.

(c) Chest – 5 cms expansion.

(d) Eye Sight – 6/6 6/9 – Uncorrected without glass.

6/6 6/6 – Corrected with glass.

General Duty/ Pilot Navigator Entry

19- 25 years on 1st July of the year of recruitment (05 years relaxation for CG uniformed personnel/ SC / ST and 03 years for OBC).

Male

(a) Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university.

(b) Mathematics and Physics (XIIth of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent).

(a) Height – 162.5 cms. Minimum and Maximum – 197 cms Leg length – Minimum 99 cms

(b) Weight – Proportionate to the height and weight + 10% acceptable.

(c) Chest – 5 cms expansion.

(d) Eye Sight – 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6.

Commercial Pilot Licence (Short Service)

19- 25 years on 1st July of the year of recruitment (05 years relaxation for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC)

Male

(a) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent and should posses current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation.

 

 

(a) Height – 162.5 cms. minimum and maximum – 197 cms. Leg length – Minimum 99 cms

(b) Weight – Proportionate to the height and weight + 10% acceptable.

(c) Chest –

5 cms Expansion .

(d) Eye Sight – 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6.

Commercial Pilot Licence (Short Service)

19- 25 years on 1st July of the year of recruitment (05 years relaxation for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC)

Female

(a) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent and should posses current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation on date of submission of application.

 

 

(a) Standard height – 152 cms and leg length – Minimum 91 cms.

(b) Weight – Proportionate to the height and weight + 10% acceptable.

(c) Chest – 5 cms expansion.

(d) Eye Sight – 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6.

Technical Entry

21-25 years on 1st July of the year of recruitment (05 years relaxation for CG uniformed personnel/ SC / ST and 03 years for OBC).

Male

(a) Engineering degree

listed below.

(i) Engineering Branch. Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace.

(ii) Electrical Branch. Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engg. or Power Electronics.

* All the above streams of Engg. must be

recognised by All India Council of Technical

Education (AICTE).

 

(iii) Physics and Maths in 12th class.

or

Three year diploma course.

a) Height- 157 cms minimum.

(b) Weight – Proportionate to the height and weight + 10% acceptable.

(c) Chest – 5 cms expansion..

(d) Eye Sight – 6/36 6/36 – Uncorrected without glass.

6/6 6/6 – Corrected with glass.

Law entry

Should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years on 1st July of the year of recruitment and relaxable upto 05 years in case of CG uniformed personnel and for the candidates belonging to the Schedule Castes or the Schedule Tribes, 03 years for the Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer).
